Benn Conger Inn
a warm welcome to you.
The Benn Conger Inn is a historic, family-owned inn and event venue set on 18 rolling acres overlooking the village of Groton in the Finger Lakes. Ten guest rooms and suites are divided between two restored historic homes. The Benn Conger Home, an example of Colonial Revival architecture built in 1921 as the residence of state senator Benn Conger, later served as a hideaway for bootlegger Dutch Schultz; it holds four oversized rooms and suites with private baths and antique furnishings. The neighboring Victorian Dempsey House adds six rooms and suites, each with a fireplace and a jetted tub or jacuzzi. Guests may reserve individual rooms, either house, or the entire inn, which sleeps up to 28 and hosts weddings, corporate retreats and family gatherings. Downtown Ithaca, Cayuga Lake, Cornell University and the Cornell Botanic Gardens, regional wineries and breweries, and MacKenzie-Childs are all within a short drive.
