The original Mirbeau, opened in 2000 on the western edge of Skaneateles village, models a French country estate wrapped around pond gardens directly inspired by Claude Monet's at Giverny. Accommodations total 34 rooms: 18 in the chateau-style Main Inn, linked to the spa and dining room by elevator and a covered bridge, plus 16 more across four freestanding Cottage buildings whose rooms have private exterior entrances.

Many rooms include fireplaces, oversized baths with soaking tubs and walk-in showers, and views over the Monet ponds or woods.
