Phoenicia Lodge is a revived mid-century motor lodge on Route 28 in the hamlet of Phoenicia, deep in the Catskill Mountains and only steps from the Esopus Creek. Its 15 units mix renovated suites and inn rooms with private one- and two-bedroom cottages that have full kitchens, and one cottage adds its own fenced yard, a practical touch since the cottages are dog-friendly. Guests share a communal fire pit, barbecue facilities, bicycle rentals and a complimentary continental breakfast, and the creek at the end of the property draws anglers, swimmers and summer tubers.
