Trout House Village Resort lines the shore of Lake George at Hague, at the quiet northern end of the lake. Lodging is spread across log cabins and one-, two- and three-bedroom cottages, a nine-bedroom country inn, motel rooms and private rental homes, most within steps of the water. The centrepiece is a 400-foot natural sand beach with a gentle entry, backed by private docks where guests can rent dock space, shallow slips or beach a boat. Canoes, kayaks, rowboats, paddle boats, stand-up paddleboards and sailboats are free to use. The grounds also hold a nine-hole putting green, shuffleboard, bocce, horseshoes, volleyball and ping pong. Nearby are hikes to the Lookout and the historic graphite mines, fishing charters and Lake George steamboat cruises.
